'Engrossing tale of a leopard that took the lives of 125 people in the Kumaon Garhwal area from 1918 to 1926. Illustrated with photographs and endmaps, pp.[vi].191. Frontis. The endmaps show the leopard's territory (500 sq. miles of hill country) and the number of kills it made in various areas.' The illustrations are by Raymond Sheppard, who also did the DW, and has his dedication on the ffep: 'To George, with all best wishes from Raymond Sheppard'. DW in archival sleeve; rubbed.
