'Special edition limited to 50,000 copies.' Boards show light shelfwear, with a bump to top leading corner and a touch of sunning to spine; binding tight; pages clean with a handful of small foxing spots. Autographed on front endpaper by 'Charles W Gordon (Ralph Connor)' with the chorus from a traditional Gaelic song: 'Ho ro, mo nigh'n donn bhoidheach/Hi ri, mo nigh'n donn bhoidhech/Mo chaileag laghach, bhoidheach/Cha phos mi ach tu.' Dated Winnipeg, Canada, Mar.29.21. Gordon, who wrote under the Connor pseudonym his whole career, was born in Canada's Glengarry County, a bilingual region settled by Scottish Highlanders. Author's fourth book, originally published in 1901 by Westminster (Toronto) and Fleming H. Revell (Chicago). Surprisingly uncommon signed in any edition. 473 pages + 6 pages of publisher's listings.

Hi all! I've been accumulating volumes for well over half my life, mostly autographed and inscribed copies. Wrote a book on book collecting for a Random House imprint in 2004 and another, "Book Collecting Now: The Value of Print in a Digital Age," for Chatwin Books, published in 2019. I intended to keep most of these books forever, but my wife and I decided to move to Manhattan, which meant downsizing from an enormous suburban house, with practically unlimited bookshelf space, to an apartment in Greenwich Village.
