A MASTER'S GUIDE TO BUILDING A BAMBOO FLY ROD by Everett Garrison with Hoagy B Carmichael. Martha's Glen Publishing. First Printing 1977.Photographs by Matthew Vinciguerra, Luis Marden. This is # 108 of a Deluxe Limited Edition of 128. Pencil sketch by Robert Seaman and inscribed by Carmichael on title page to a friend. Full brown calf with raised spine bands, gilt rules, titles and decoration. All edges gilt. Illustrated with tipped-in color photograph of Garrison as frontispiece. Book is in fine condition and measures app. 9" x 11 1/3", 296 pages, plus a few blank note pages. Dark green moire silk end pages show some minore discoloration, as shown in pics. Half leather and marble paper clam shell box titled in gilt on spine with a unique leather pull tab containing a bamboo specimen. The clamshell box, measures app. 9 3/4" x 12", is in near fine condition, with tape repairs at outer corners and slight wear elsewhere. Onion skin dust jacket shows some wear at edges and corners. Hoagy Carmichael is the son of the famous composer. He has written several other books himself, including a two volume set on the history of fly fishing on the Grand Cascapedia River.
