The ffep in ink is as follows " This little book belongs to Kay Pickford. Miss Pickford honours with her friendship the artist who made the pictures for it. He did not give her a copy. He should have done so and will regret his remissness for ever. William Russell Flint March 1956". Kay Pickford who was a young London artist ,who began painting as a result of Sir Flint's encouragement of her early sketches and paintings. William Russell Flint's letters, held at National Libraries, communicate their mutual friendship and his support for the younger artist. Sound clean and tigh copy. 167 pages, 7 unnumbered leaves of plates : illustrations ; "The present volume follows the English version published in London in 1777" - introduction.
