About the Author

Jamie Ruthenberg has been sketching the character of Miles since she was a small child. Many years later, with watercolor and pencil, Jamie has developed him into a kindhearted and thoughtful soul that treats others with love and respect, even during challenging circumstances. As a certified teacher in elementary education and long-time professional writer, today she is living in Clarkston, Michigan with her daughter. Jamie is dedicated to bringing Miles’ character, and all for which he stands, to life in the hearts and minds of her readers. Among the many themes and teaching points, one close to Jamie’s heart is showing love through wonderful creations from the kitchen, and the value in making and enjoying cherished family recipes with loved ones. This is one of the reoccurring themes of comfort and family throughout the Miles series of books.
