Later edition. Signed with inscription to G. T. E. Chamberlain. A separate cover letter also signed by Campbell-Johnson is laid in. Hardcover, original jacket, with photographic illustrations. 383 pages. Foreword by Earl Mountbatten of Burma, the last Viceroy of India. When Mountbatten was asked by the Prime Minister in 1946 to take on the role of Viceroy of India and manage the transfer of Power from Britain to India along with the partition of India and Pakistan, he asked Alan Campbell-Johnson (1913-1998) to come along as his senior aide and press attache. Campbell-Johnson had previously served under Mountbatten in the RAF. Thus, Campbell-Johnson had a first-hand view of one of the most important political happenings of the day. Following that he became a pioneer in the public relations world in Britain, and wrote several books. Very good condition, in protective removable mylar dust jacket cover.
