MOSES EVANS (1812-1853). Evans was a noted Texan soldier and surveyor.DS. 1pg. November 29, 1850. Brenham, Texas. A promissory note signed x by Moses Evans (Evans was illiterate). The Texas pioneer promised to pay John Johnson $198.30 plus interest. For value received I promise to pay John Johnson or other One hundred and ninety eight dollars and thirty cents with interest on demand. Moses Evens [sic] x. It has a horizontal fold and is in very good condition.
