FIRST EDITION, FIRST IMPRESSION, PRESENTATION COPY, inscribed by the author to Lawrence Durrell, "For Larry - Greetings from this side of Devachan. Henry 1/18/77", (dated in the American fashion). Preserved in what might be the original posting envelope addressed to Durrell at his home in France in Miller’s hand. Loosely inserted is a postcard from Miller to Durrell postmarked November 1979 bearing a reproduction of one of Miller’s lithographs. "Dear Larry - Mailing you to-day to Sommieres several lithos - no charge! My pleasure! Hope you like them. Henry." Octavo. Original pictorial wrappers lettered to upper cover and spine. A fine copy. Postcard has some minor creases but excellent overall. Housed in a sturdy buckram-covered slipcase.
