Synopsis
.This is my second published book. My first book entitled: In a Nutshell is a collection of popular English phrases. This book, however, is a collection of articles and essays on history, technology, religion, science, music, and politics. Many of the essays are excerpts from my forthcoming series of books on the history of Western Civilization. In this book, I explore: was Lincoln the Great Emancipator? West Point and the Civil War, the origins of Greece; why Brutus killed Caesar, Ancient Egypt, the making of the Gospels; the evolution of the New Testament, the history of Islam, the origins of the African slave trade, Thomas Edison and the light bulb, Sarnoff and the wireless communications, Haiti and the Louisiana Purchase, Nixon and Kennedy, Dumas and Pushkin, Malcolm X, the fundamentals of music, Cybersecurity, Astronomy, Anthropology, emerging technologies and other topics of interest
About the Author
Richard Lawson Singley has worked in the Engineering field for over three decades. Richard spent many years employed as an Electrical Engineer, but never lost his passion for exploring the intricacies of the English language and historical events. He is the author of: In a Nutshell, A New Perspective, Renaissance Man, Mystic Chords of Memory and several forthcoming books and essays on various subjects including: religion, science, philosophy, history and politics. He has also worked as an educator and assistant in the Public School system. He is a graduate of Drexel University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. A native of Roselle, NJ; he is the father of two sons, Bradford and Adrian, and lives in the Washington, DC area with his life-long love and wife Jeanne.
