pp. 124. 12mo. Bound in the original patterned brown cloth, gilt titles on the spine and front cover. Black & white frontispiece of bishop's residence. Light edgewear, cloth worn at spine ends and split along joints, tear across spine (with old repairs). Occasional foxing, contents otherwise unmarked; good. Author's presentation copy. Front endpaper inscribed in ink as follows: "Miss Simcoe With the Bishop's Christian Regards March 8th, 1857. Isaiah XXXV.1". Also reads: " P. J. Simcoe 1866- ". Written in the form of a diary, by Bishop David Anderson (1814-1885), the narrative gives a detailed description of the great flood of 1852 at the Red River Settlement. A second edition appeared in 1873. Peel 286. Sabin 1393.

Most of our US-bound packages are couriered over the border, for shipment via USPS. We find this method of shipping is both faster and cheaper than the other options, even given the possible delay in dispatch. If you wish immediate dispatch, please inquire about the options.
International orders going surface, are sent via Canada Post "small packet" rate, which is the least expensive option for international shipments, but is NOT insurable, so these packages will be sent at the customer's risk. International airmail parcels are sent USPS Priority, which is insured, and the price of which is based on the cost of a standard flat-rate Priority envelope.
