Jameson has compiled an assorted collection of essays by fourteen of the most prominent Texas writers through which he hopes to explore the following questions: "How did they accomplish their goals? Why did they choose the writing life? What influence did the history, lore, and culture of Texas play in their creative process?" While readily citing the "decidedly Texas flavor" in his own fiction, Jameson seeks to uncover the inspirations in other writers from both the expansive and rugged Texas terrain as well as the varied people therein. Notes from an outsider / Judy Alter -- Something to say / Robert Flynn -- Nine ball, corner pocket / Don Graham -- Why I write / Rolando Hinojosa-Smith -- The country of the mind / Paulette Jiles -- I love a good western / Elmer Kelton -- Famous Arthur / Larry L. King -- Two states of mind / James Ward Lee -- Barbarians, cowboys, and private eyes : how I became a Texas writer / James Reasoner -- From wit to wisdom : the irony of the artistic journey / Clay Reynolds -- Saved to the uttermost : the life and times of a nai?ve Texas writer / Joyce Gibson Roach -- Drawing inspiration / Red Steagall -- Universal truths in your own back yard / Carlton Stowers -- Confessions of a Texas publisher/writer / Frances Brannen Vick.

This is no Half Price Books nor Strand Bookstore, neither a Powell's nor a Library Buyers, rather one person selling books as a side hustle and a passion. When you deal with me, you deal with me, not an anonymous clerk. I presume sales to be final except in case of substantial condition discrepancy or lost and strayed shipments, and I'm not at home to buyer's remorse, so don't EVEN go there.
Books will be wrapped securely in unused newspaper stock and shipped in bubble-padded mailing envelopes. Additional bubble-wrap may be included for large, heavy, or specially fragile items. After multiple instances of the US Post Awful losing books for me (it averaged about one per month) I have changed to UPS for US domestic shipments. Unfortunately, this also means I CANNOT ship to Post Office box addresses any longer (the delivery trucks won't fit into the little boxes) and I have to charge more S&H than I used.
I send international shipments via the broker Global Post, at International First Class rates. This will of necessity delay delivery at times.
