Scattered damp staining and at the outside of a few of the plates, outside the illustration. General light toning and foxing. This work explores the depths and range of Huygen's knowledge in optics and physics. He discovered Saturn's moon Titan and its rings, invented the pendulum clock, studied centrifugal force and was a key figure in the scientific revolution.
