- sc The 4 inch high by 7-1/2 inch wide envelope is illustrated with an aquatic theme vignette within a ruled frame at left within which is printed "U.S.S. Missouri / Equatorial Crossing / Presidential Cruise / 11 September, 1947". Postmarked from the U.S.S. Missouri over a U.S. 3 cent postage stamp of "The Doctor". Signed in full "Harry Truman" by the president under the illustration at left. The envelope is also signed in full by the President's wife Bess W. Truman and his daughter Margaret Truman vertically along the right edge of the image and by the ship's commanding officer "Robert L. Dennison / Captain U.S. Navy / Commanding". The first day cover is addressed in type to "The Honorable William D. Hassett / Washington, D.C." Very slightly soiled, else near fine. The recipient William D.
