From the German by D. Boileau. Colored frontispiece & 22 folding b/w plates. Square 16mo, original salmon boards with circular paper title label. London: Boosey & Sons, 1825. Second Edition, greatly enlarged. Harry Houdini's copy, with his penciled ownership signature on the end-paper, and the notation "Bot Leeds England 1913". The initials "H H" are written on the fore-edge. A rare and unusual item.
