Blind-stamped in star pattern with an open cameo area on the front and rear center of the boards. Spine lettering dulled. With wear to the top and bottom of the spine ends.Corners bumped and lightly worn. This copy was donated to a historical society and noted by the donor with a seal. Specially inscribed by the author to Harriet Beecher Stowe: "From the author to Mrs. H.B. Stowe with his prayers for her continued usefulness and eternal salvation. West Philadelphia Dec. 2nd 1857.
