This is the third edition of the children's book originally published in the "Dumpy Book" series in 1901. A near fine copy in blue boards with a tipped in illustration to top board. The story concerns a dragon which eats the King's cook and is then killed by the Pink Knight who married the King's daughter as a reward. The King's cook is rescued from the dragon's innards and gives the dragon's heart to the knight whereupon the heart turns into a handsome young man. (?!). Presentation inscription from the Irish illustrator and author, Jack Monsell, "for a good girl" on a preliminary blank. Printed on one side of page only. Dustwrapper repaired and a bit grubby (see photos) but is now protected with clear plastic. The Chatto edition not located in COPAC.
