A pollard willow along the edge of a stream. Other willows in the background. Delicate etching in red on wove paper, sheet size 163 x 131 mm., platemark 132 x 114 mm., marked 'épreuve d'artiste' in pencil lower left. Signed in pencil lower right. Dirk Harting (Salatiga 1884-1970 Haarlem) was a Dutch graphic artist, painter, draughtsperson, and print collector, born in Indonesia. His training was at the Rijksacademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam, where he was a student of Pieter Dupont and Willem Witsen, both accomplished artists and etchers. In excellent condition.
