A first edition of this lovely illustrated biography specially and lavishly bound by Zaehnsdorf in1970 in a limited edition of 265, 250 of which were for sale. This is number 201. Full turquoise goatskin, now somewhat faded and needing to be re-coloured, with attractive inlays to the front. Raised bands and gilt lettering to spine. Full gilding to all page edges, marbled endpapers and elaborate gilt borders and gilt lines to cover edges. Fully illustrated throughout with colour and black and white drawings and photographs. Just a touch up of colour to the leather and you have a wonderful gift. A heavy book for which there will be a little extra postage required. Seller Inventory # 004121
