One page 16 x 10.5", folded in half, printed on both sides. Weakening at folds, fold tears else good. Original emobssed paper seal present. At the time of his appointment Prescott was a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Also signed by Alden Bradford as the Secretary of the Commonwealth. Bradford was a direct descendant of Plymouth Colony governor, William Bradford. Caleb Strong Jr. was a Founding Father, he assisted in drafting the Massachusetts State Constitution, was a state and U.S. Senator, twice governor of Massachusetts and instrumental in the passage of the Judiciary Act of 1789 which established the federal court system.
