Seventh printing, published two months after the first. Book appears unread; price-clipped dust jacket shows a touch of edgewear and toning. Autographed by Timerman on front endpaper. Laid in is a letter explaining the provenance: The owner met the author at a bar after a 'Writers & Human Rights' conference. An important testament by an Argentine journalist and publisher 'who dared to criticize his government's policy of cruel repression' and here tells of 'his arrest, imprisonment, interrogation, and torture, before a worldwide campaign won him his freedom.' The author died in 1999. 'Prisoner.,' his first book, is startlingly uncommon signed. 164 pages.

Hi all! I've been accumulating volumes for well over half my life, mostly autographed and inscribed copies. Wrote a book on book collecting for a Random House imprint in 2004 and another, "Book Collecting Now: The Value of Print in a Digital Age," for Chatwin Books, published in 2019. I intended to keep most of these books forever, but my wife and I decided to move to Manhattan, which meant downsizing from an enormous suburban house, with practically unlimited bookshelf space, to an apartment in Greenwich Village.
