Robert places great emphasis on sketching in the field and his watercolours are frequently "plein air"; this approach ensures paintings of vitality and authenticity. He is featured in Nicholas Hammond's two books "Twentieth Century Wildlife Artists" (1986, Croom Helm) and "Modern Wildlife Painting" (1998, Pica Press). His work features in numerous publications, and in 2022 he took over the mantle of designing the dust jackets for Collins' famous series on British wildlife - The New Naturalist library. Additionally Robert has worked on a number of collaborative projects drawing attention to threatened areas and habitats. He has worked extensively in France illustrating ornithological guides and working in the Parc des Ecrins in the French Alps as Artist in Residence. In 1999 the Pica Press published "Towards the Sea", an illustrated diary of Robert's work throughout a typical year. His work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Show on several occasions and is represented in public and private collections throughout the World.] The shipping cost on this painting within the UK is likely to be in the region of £25.
