Very good condition overall. Original dark green cloth boards are clean and sound, with light rubbing at the extremities and mild wear to the spine ends. Original dust jacket is fair, exhibiting heavy wear with significant chipping and loss at the spine, edge wear and age toning yet retaining intact panels with fully legible text. Gilt lettering on the board spine remains legible though slightly dulled. The binding is firm and square. Internally, the paper is evenly age-toned, with scattered light foxing consistent with early-20th-century stock. The front free endpaper bears a neat contemporary presentation inscription awarding the book as a religious-school prize, signed by the author, with additional ownership bookplate. No loose pages; text is clean and fully legible. Signed and inscribed copy of The Reform Movement in Judaism by Rabbi David Philipson, published by The Macmillan Company, New York. Originally issued in 1907 and later revised, this copy is from the revised edition published in January 1931. Philipson was a leading figure in American Reform Judaism, and this work is among the most important early systematic histories of the movement. The author’s signature and dated prize inscription give the volume strong association interest, particularly appealing to collectors of Jewish history, American religious thought, and signed theological works.…
