New York. William Morrow & Company. 1949 [1946]. Second printing. Octavo (9 x 6). 352 pp. Signed by Roderick Haig-Brown on the half-title page. There's one more thing that makes this copy a little unique. There is a bookseller's ticket affixed to the back pastedown. "Harry Hartman / Seattle." Hartman's book store was the place where Ann Elmore (the future Mrs. Haig-Brown) worked when she met Roderick in the fall of 1929. A love affair born of books - Ann and Roderick were married in 1934. Illustrated by Louis Darling with 12 full-page black and white plates. The book is bound in beige cloth with dark green titles and decorations. Pictorial dust jacket The book is very good in a fair dust jacket with chips, rips, edge wear, and multiple tape repairs to the inside of the jacket.

Orders usually ship within 2 business days. Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 LB, or 1 KG. If your book order is heavy or oversized, we may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required. My chosen shipping option is the U. S. Postal Service. USPS is the best in terms of service and cost efficiency. Overseas shipments are charged at cost. Other shipping options are available, such as UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.; however, they are frightfully expensive.
