About this Item
London & New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1924. Lennox Robinson (1886-1958), Irish poet, playwright, and manager of the Abbey Theatre, wrote this play in 1910 (cf. Ricorso) but it did not have its first production until 1922. This is a Very Good copy of the Second Printing of the First Edition. An uncommon title. Orange paper wraps with black letering nd a theatrical illustration on the front cover. Clean text; 111 pages, including the cast list from the original production in 1922. This copy in an ASSOCIATION COPY that has been SIGNED and INSCRIBED by Robinson to Belfast-born St. John Ervine (1883-1971) who had his first play produced by the Abbey in 1911. Wear to the margins (due to covers being larger than the textblock); the spine is darkened and has two splits; the FFEP is missing (the first page is the Title); spotting to the page edges. This is a fragile item that might benefit from some minor conservation. Inscribed By Author. Reprint Edition. Soft Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Seller Inventory # 004319
