Add to basketNear Fine+ typed SIGNED letter from R.D. Wingfield on his personal stationary, dated 1995 talking about Frost books being published in US and about the TV series. "Monday 4th December 1995- Dear Dan Monte: Many thanks for your letter. As requested, I return the bookplates duly signed in my best writing. I do not find book writing easy, so have only written four FROST novels and these have all been published in paperback by Bantam in the States. HARD FROST has just come out over here in hardback and the first print run was completely sold out before publication. A specialised bindings, leather quarter bindings and limited to 85 copies, but at 48 (pounds) a time who (how) many people will want it? I stopped watching after the first three Frost TV films as I did not want the book Frost to be taken over by the TV Frost who is very different. I understand Colin Dexter has the same problem with Morse. I found the episodes I did watch slow, and very bland, although David Jason is a terrific actor. They have cleaned the character up far too much for my taste. Am doodling with another Frost book, but can't work up too much enthusiasm at the moment. Thanks for writing. have a great Christmas. Sincerely Rodney Wingfield". Comes with author hand-addressed return envelope. Letter folded twice. Scarce signed letter from Wingfield with persoanal view of TV adaptation of his work. Unique collectable item for the Wingfield-Frost collector. Note: No International orders for this item.
