Ottawa. Environment Canada. 1974. First edition. Quarto (10 1/2 x 8). 79 pp. The book is inscribed and signed by Ann and Roderick Haig-Brown (in Roderick's hand) on the half-title page. Stunning color plates showing salmon as well as maps and diagrams. Haig-Brown's text is a passionate plea to save and restore the salmon stocks. In more than 30 years pursuing Haig-Brown books, this is the only example of The Salmon I've seen that is signed by Haig-Brown. The book is bound in gray pictorial wrappers with a Haida salmon printed on the front cover and title on the spine. Light edge ware. Very good.
