1 oblong page on "Selwyn and Company" stationery, 5.5 x 8.5 inches, Selwyn Theatre Building, 229 West 42nd Street, New York, July 25, 1924, to playwright Gilbert Miller, in full: "I am enclosing you a letter received from Hughes Massie & Co. What about it?" This story is simple: Gilbert Miller was a horrific gambler and Edgar Selwyn had received yet another letter asking for payment of his debts. In past experiences Selwyn would write off his debts as advances made towards future projects. Very good(-) condition. Prominent figure in theatre and film in the first half of the 20th century. He co-founded Goldwyn films in 1916 which was eventually absorbed into M-G-M.
