This outfielder debuted with the Chicago White Sox in 1948, and also played for the St. Louis Browns and Detroit Tigers before retiring in 1960; remembered for his role in baseball's most famous stunt when in 1951 Bill Veeck had him pinch-run for 3'7" Eddie Gaedel. Large bold signature in blue ballpoint, heavy stock 5" X 3" card, n.p., 1974 February 24. Fine. With original envelope.
