About this Item
This legendary railroad man, philanthropist and politician is remembered as president of the Chicago and Alton Railroad (1864-99) and a founding president of the Union Stock Yards; among the many things named for him is Chicago's noted Blackstone Hotel. Enormous "Very Truly Yours / T.B. Blackstone / Pres" in brown ink on a 6" X 2 3/4" slip, n.y., n.y. Very good. Moderately age toned, with archivally closed (on verso) tear near center.
