Unusual piece of New York political history, featuring the signature of Nelson A. Rockefeller, together with the actual pen used as Governor of New York to approve legislation in 1967. Beautifully presented with the State of New York Executive Chamber heading, with an embossed gold-colored state seal. Signed at the lower right by Rockefeller, with an additional signature from the Secretary to the Governor. The original fountain-style signing pen is attached to the document by a blue ribbon. Minor foxing and brown discoloration toward the upper portion. Set in black frame measuring 10 1/2" x 17". Nelson Aldrich Rockefeller was the 41st vice president of the United States, serving from 1974 to 1977 under President Gerald Ford. A member of the Republican Party and the wealthy Rockefeller family, he was the 49th governor of New York from 1959 to 1973. He was the leader of the moderate faction of his party, known as the Rockefeller Republicans.
