SIGNED COPY WITH LETTER - PROVENANCE : : Is Signed "With very best wishes from Margaret and Agnes Blundell", daughters of the Author and who were better known as Margaret Elizabeth Clementina Mary Blundell (writer). Also laid in is a handwritten letter to the last owner from Margaret Blundell dated Aug 12th 1948. In it she sends the book, 'formerly one owned by her mother', as a Wedding Gift. The Letter also refers to Little Crosby. Reissue of 1927, which was originally published in 1906. Note about the Author: M. E. Francis was the pen name of Mary Elizabeth Blundell (née Sweetman 1859 - 9 March 1930 who was a prolific Irish novelist. She was described as the best known woman novelist of the day. She married her husband, Francis Blundell on 18 November 1879 moved to Little Crosby. ; Agnes Mary Frances Blundell (M.B.E.), (writer) CONTENTS: Collection of fourteen stories from periodicals.Madame Felicie. --The breadwinner. --Mrs. Angel. --Patchworks. --A widow indeed. --Mr. Brown and Tilly. --Cwortin' corner. --The woodpecker. --The "Tallygraft". --"Forty-Bags". --The philanthropist and the unit. --Mademoiselle and Fraulein. --Mrs. Grzdwell's piano. --The transplanting of a daisy. An exceptional copy, being very clean and bright, illustrated covers are fresh, tightly bound, anin an excellent protected dust jacket. Just minor foxing evident, to preliminaries, and fore edges of text block, barely affecting the facing pages. The Dust Jacket too is excellent. p.311, adv p.4. NOTE :M. E.
