Synopsis
The Simple Hand of Fate is the story of a young girl whose whole life changes when she meets and falls in love with an "unsuitable" boy. Both families disapprove, but the couple continues to see each other. They plan to marry. Bewitched by love, Cantly's life is about to change forever. She is about to learn why they say, "be careful what you wish for."
Cantly becomes pregnant. Her fiancé goes away on family business before she has a chance to tell him. When Cantly's father finds out, he rejects her and sends her to stay with her married sister. She runs away and finds a boarding house in town, where she is soon accepted as one of the family.
Cantly loses the baby, but her fiancé tracks her down, and they marry. They are happy for a time, and are planning to build their own house on the family farm. Then Cantly becomes pregnant again, but there are complications.
About the Author
Glenda Ferguson Tippins was born and raised in Renfrew Ontario. Long before she put pen to paper, she entertained herself by making up stories as she slowly walked home from school. It would be years before she had the confidence to put her thoughts, which she had never shared with anyone, on paper and slowly begin to show them to others. She is pleased to introduce her first novel, The Simple Hand of Fate. Glenda, her husband Peter--a proud Canadian farmer--and their son Josh share their farm in Castleford, Ontario, with seven cats, many cattle, and their border collie named Buddy.
Ms. Tippins is currently working on her second novel.
