About this Item
Folded for mailing. Very small tear at the end of a fold has been taped. A few words have ink smudges, all text still legible. ; Two handwritten signed letters, 6+ pages combined. Each has the handwritten heading 9 Glos'ter Place, Portman Square. They are dated 28th Feby and 24th Mar, no year. Both letters are to William Moy Thomas, editor of Cassell's Magazine, on various matters. Included with the letters is a handwritten inscription by Sketchley, signed, approx. 8 1/8" wide by 2 5/8", cut from an album leaf, 16th November 1875. Written in the dialect style of his character Mrs. Martha Brown and signed with her name. Cut-out photograph of Sketchley mounted to left. Seller Inventory # 347437
