Approx. 45 items, both manuscript and printed. Founded in 1881 as the Atlanta Baptist Female Seminary, Spelman College is the oldest private historically black liberal arts institution for women. The present group of ephemeral material was formed by a white teacher at the school, Alice H. Hinman, and includes a 24-page manuscript draft, presumably by her, relating a early history of the Spelman and a description of daily life for the students and the goals and accomplishments of the school. Printed ephemera includes 1920 and 1921 catalogues, promotional and fundraising pamphlets, real photo postcards, vol. 1, no. 1 of a Spelman magazine titled Printers' Pi and much more.
