Complete 8-volume set of The Spectator, printed London 1753 by J. & R. Tonson and S. Draper. Contemporary full leather. Provenance: William Miller, Edinburgh, 1834, with his signature and antiquarian label. Condition fair, with rubbing, wear and cracking to spines as expected for mid-18th century bindings. Text generally clean. Unique feature: retained inside Volume V is an original Ford Motor Company advertising leaflet for the newly introduced Model T in London (c. 1910). Early British Ford ephemera is rare to survive, especially found in-situ in an 18th-century literary set. A strong collector?s hybrid.
