Bruce Held has spent the many years in Washington, D.C., filling a number of key roles at the U.S. Department of Energy, including director of intelligence and counterintelligence and a stint â " for most of a year â " as acting head of the National Nuclear Security Administration. About the Author

E. B. Held is a retired CIA clandestine operations officer. From 2002 to 2009, he was Chief of Counterintelligence at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque. He currently serves as Director of Intelligence and Counterintelligence at the Department of Energy in Washington, D.C.
