"Dear Mr. Gutterman: / I apologize for the shameful delay in acknowledging your / letter and the award. They were received and I thank you. / I have not yet finished answering the pile of mail that arrived / during my three-month absence this past summer. / Sincerely, / Benjamin Spock". Has folds from mailing and staple holes in top left corner. This is an excellent piece and would be a welcome addition to any collection. Fine Condition Dr. Benjamin Spock, born in Connecticut on May 2, 1903, was a pediatrician that published the highly successful book, Common Sense Book of Baby and Child Care. He urged parents to trust their common sense, be flexible, and refrain from using corporal punishment. The book has been published in 39 languages and sold over 50 million copies.
