A very sweet pocket-sized gift book of poetry published by Raphael Tuck, inscribed in contemporary ink to "Carrie E. Kachel" from "Aunt Margaret". The author is listed as Annie Matheson. The book includes in-text color illustrations related to the verse, and ends: When sorrow darkens all our sky, Life's blossoms lost, In sudden Frost, And all our courage like to die, Oh! help us still Thy Name to praise By loyal deeds and patient days." Single vol. (3" by 3.75"), pp. [16], color illus., in original illus. wrps secured at left-hand edge with cream-colored cord and gold cord. Includes the Tuck seal on the last leaf verso. Very good. Light toning/dust soiling.
