Published in New York in 1924, this is volume one of the American printings of the First Volume in the Atlantic edition of the works of H. G. Wells. The set was published in a limited-edition of 1050 copies. Of which 50 were for presentation and 1000 for sale. The first volume in the set being signed by the author on the limitation page. The book contains his classic science fiction work The Time Machine, along with a selection of his early science fiction short stories, and his fantasy novel The Wonderful Visit about an Angel visiting earth. The book is bound in the original boards with paper spine title label, internally printed on nice quality hand made paper, illustrated with a portrait of the author.

CONDITION
The covers have some sunning wear and light marks, mild corner wear, the spine title label is rubbed with some wear to the lettering (the spare title label is still present tipped in at rear) internally the page edges remain untrimmed, a few pages remain uncut and unopened, a few page edges have been roughly opened with some loss along top blank edge not affecting the printed area (see pictures) else book is in good general condition.

The book remains in good condition and offers an affordable way to get a genuinely signed copy of his classic science fiction novel "The Time Machine".
