About the Author

Early in his deer hunting career, the author of this book learned the importance of being able to follow the trail of wounded deer to be able to recover those that run out of sight before dying as well as those that require a finishing shot. One of the first deer he bagged with bow and arrow was a whitetail that had been wounded by someone else and he finished what they started for the deer's sake. He feels all hunters have a strong ethical responsibility to finish wounded deer as quickly and humanely as possible to minimize suffering. Over his almost 50 years of deer hunting, he has used his well developed deer recovery skills to help many other hunters find countless deer shot with both bow and arrow and firearms.
