London. Seeley, Service & Co. Ltd. 1929. Deluxe Edition. Large octavo (9 1/2 x 7). [x], 5-448 [iv] pp. including index. Deluxe Edition. Book number 126 of 375 copies published. Signed by Eric Taverner on the limitation leaf. The text sheets were printed on hand-made paper. Tipped-in frontispiece. There are 65 tipped-in plates, two of which are colored. And 188 text illustrations. Nearly everything known about trout and trout fishing at the time of publication is included. Tipped-in at the back of the book are 30 trout flies, mounted over vellum, and covered with clear plastic within a thick paper frame. The book is bound in the original blue morocco with gilt titles and decorations. Blue and white marbled end papers. Top edge gilt. Deckle edges. It appears several of the flies have been replaced at some point. The book is very good, clean and bright, with light, uneven fading to the binding.
