New York. E. P. Dutton. 1978. First Edition. Two Volumes. Large octavos (10 x 8). 1745 pp. in two volumes. Inscribed and signed by Ernest Schwiebert to angling author Richard Salmon in volume 1. (By the way, Richard Salmon was one of the founding editors at Newsweek magazine.) Mr. Schwiebert has also inscribed his book to another fisherman opposite the half-title inscription. A rare double inscription. Color plates of trout species and artificial flies. Hundreds of text illustrations. A monumental work that has cast an influential shadow over the literature of trout fishing since its publication. The two volumes bound in brown cloth with gilt titles on the spines. Green cloth slip case with decorative color label on the side panel. A nice clean set. Both volumes very good with moderate fading to the spines in a very good slip case with a little uneven fading.
