Both letters are 1 page and measure 5 x 4 inches. The first letter: New York, April 4, 1900, "I am sorry I cannot go to the Colonial Knight -- I%u2019m very occupied all this week -- Many thanks for the card." The other letter: 130 West 57th Street, New York, April 18, 1915, in full: "If you may be free on Thursday April 22nd I hope you will drop in for tea. I am in the throes of indecision about my going to my Paris studio." Slight foxing on both letters, but otherwise in very good condition. American artist known for his historical portraits as well as for his ability to create landscape scenes. Seller Inventory # 273862
