This conservative French statesman was the last prime minister of France's Fourth Republic (1958) before handing over power to General Charles de Gaulle; he served in the European Parliament (1979-89) and as its president (1984-87). TNS, 1p, 6" X 8¼", Strasbourg, France, 1970 November 4. Addressed to Richard C. Laade. Fine. Transmits an autograph, which is present on a heavy stock 5" X 3" card, dated 1970 November 4 in type.
