The Veiled One (Signed 1st)

The Veiled One is the 14th novel in Rendell's Inspector Wexford detective series. From the publisher: Concealed by a shroud of dirty brown velvet was what looked like a heap of rags. In the desolate subterranean car park of the Barringdean Shopping Centre, Reg Wexford had been too preoccupied to notice anything out of the ordinary. Dorothy Sanders noticed, however, and pulling back the velvet curtain she made the grim discovery of a woman's body. Inspector Michael Burden, for a while conducting the investigation without the help of Wexford's intuitive genius, blunders down a number of blind alleys before uncovering the truth. This copy is fine in black cloth with gilt titles on the spine. No marks or damage at all. The unclipped DJ is also excellent. Signed by Rendell on the title page. . AB20.
