About us
The Online Portrait Gallery is a brand of Kunsthandel M.J. van de Steeg BV. Registered at the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK), number 83238743.
Our collection
The Online Portrait Gallery only sells original prints. You can browse our collection via our website or platforms such as Abebooks. We provide quality photos and descriptions of our products. They enable you to evaluate the products you are interested in. Our prices include VAT. Any extra costs, such as shipping costs are not included in the price.
In the unlikely case that you order a product that has already been sold, we will inform you as soon as possible.
Warranty
The Online Portrait Gallery provides high quality descriptions. We provide a certificate of authenticity with every purchase. In the unlikely case that we have made an error in our description, you can return your purchase and receive back your purchase amount (without the shipping costs). This warranty is not limited to EU-consumers but applies to all our customers. In case you would like to use this warranty, please use the contact form.
Payment
The Online Portrait Gallery will only ship its products after we have received a full payment. You can pay online, whilst placing your order.
Shipment & Returns
The Online Portrait Gallery will ship your purchase and handle your returns according onto the policies imposed by Abebooks to sellers. Please note, this only accounts for sales via Abebooks. For all other sales, the general terms and conditions as outlined on our website apply.
Retention of Title
The Online Portrait Gallery remains the owner of the purchased items and has the right to reclaim the items purchased as long as the invoice has not been (fully) paid. This is also the case if the counterparty goes bankrupt or into liquidation. The Retention of Title (‘eigendomsvoorbehoud’) is a provision of Dutch Law.

In the unlikely case a dispute arises, this is exclusively subject to Dutch law.

Global Shipping
The Online Portrait Gallery provides worldwide shipping to almost all countries. You can browse the current shipment fees when placing your order.
Secure packaging
Old prints are vulnerable objects. Therefore, we ship our prints safely in an acid free cover and a secure cardboard package. Every shipment also includes your certificate of authenticity.
Insured shipping
In spite of all precautions we take, it is unfortunately always possible that an object incurs damage during shipment. This could for example be due to uncareful handling by the shipping agency. For this reason, all our shipments are insured.
Returns
The Online Portrait Gallery accept returns, when initiated within 30 days of the estimated delivery date, for all reasons under AbeBooks' Return Policy. You are obliged to inform us via the Return Form. You are responsible that the item returns to us in the original condition. The costs associated with the return are paid for by the customer. Once the item is received – in its original condition – by The Online Portrait Gallery, we will refund your purchase amount, minus our shipping costs.
Warranty
The Online Portrait Gallery stands for high quality descriptions. In the hypothetical case that one of our descriptions proves inaccurate, we offer you the unique possibility to return your purchase and receive a refund. This warranty applies to all our customers.
Other costs associated with shipping
It is always possible you have to pay import fees, VAT or other costs when importing your purchase from The Online Portrait Gallery into your country. Please note that the buyer is always responsibly for these costs. They cannot be transferred to The Online Portrait Gallery in any case and are no valid reason for return.
