Introduction by Valerie Haig-Brown. Illustrations by Loren Ritchie. Black and white photos. Well crafted stories and essays written by Van, ranging from his early days fishing in the Chippewa and Brule rivers in Wisconsin, catching huge Carp and smaller Rainbows, to his immigration to Campbell River, British Columbia, and his time on the Campbell and other B. C. streams and lakes. For several decades Van and Maxine Egan were up-river neighbors of the Haig-Browns. Steelhead, salmon, and trout mixed with a few good friends, form the core of these stories. The book is bound in burgundy cloth with gilt titles on the spine and front cover. A nice book. Fine.
