Well crafted stories and essays written by Van, ranging from his early days fishing in the Chippewa and Brule rivers in Wisconsin, catching huge Carp and smaller Rainbows, to his time fishing the Campbell River and other B. C. rivers and lakes. For several decades, Van and Maxine Egan were upriver friends and neighbors of the Haig-Browns. Steelhead, salmon, and trout mixed with a few good friends form the core of these stories. The book is bound in burgundy cloth with gilt titles on the spine and front cover. This book has a custom jacket made by Van because he didn't like the book's appearance when it was published; it shows Van and his lovely wife Maxine in their home. It adds a nice touch, and it's likely only a handful of jackets were produced for friends. A nice book. Fine in a fine dust jacket.…
