About the Author

Ali Riley was born in Calgary, where she was the lead singer/songwriter of Sacred Heart of Elvis, a seminal 80's psycho-country band. In Toronto she acted in various theatre productions (The Lorca Play, When There Was No Money Left in the World, Das Rheingold), along the way acquiring skills such as Flamenco Dance and walking through broken glass whilst chewing on a pig's heart. Her produced plays include dog dream, Philosophy in the Bedroom, Hole in My Heart the Size of My Heart, and Schadenfreude Funhause. In 1999 she moved to a cabin in Winlaw BC, and lived off the grid. She currently lives in Nelson, BC, where she teaches writing workshops to teens.
