When Angels Fail to Fly: a Steve Cassidy Mystery

Private Investigator Steve Cassidy is back for a second wild mystery involving murder, intrigue, insurance scams, missing persons, former and current loves, and his distinctive sarcastic loathing for everyone, including himself.

Six months after solving a missing person case and regaining a sense of personal redemption, the former disgraced ex-cop’s life appears to be back on track. His P.I. business is booming and he is looking to settle down with his small town girlfriend. Even the publication of a True Crime novel about his celebrated cold case success portrayed him as a reformed man and one to watch in the future.

Unfortunately, several people are watching him these days.

When things mysteriously begin to happen to the ones Steve loves, everyone - the police, the public, the newspapers, and especially his friends - begin to question his every move. Then a call from an old high school buddy, currently sitting in a penitentiary, only further complicates matters.

With his love life in shambles, and arrest warrants being issued in his name, a road trip might just hold the key to his maintaining his sanity. Unfortunately, trouble has a way of finding Steve Cassidy, and he soon discovers you can run but you can’t hide from your present or your past.

With its rich blend of humour, cynicism, hope, denial, and hardcore investigation techniques on display, When Angels Fail To Fly gives a fresh new twist on the phrase, “You can’t get there from here.”
